CSRA’s sustainability program mitigates our impact on the environment by lessening energy, material, and water use. Our goals are to provide a green and healthy workplace for our employees in more than 80 CSRA facilities, reduce the environmental impact on the communities in which we work, and encourage our staff to be good stewards of the planet.

Sustainability Initiatives

At CSRA, we are actively supporting several sustainability initiatives:

  • Tracking energy use across the company and developing a baseline greenhouse gas inventory
  • Developing a standardized approach to waste and recycling, auditing facility recycling practices, and retrofitting facilities as needed 
  • Promoting Flexible CSRA to encourage staff to telework and work from CSRA locations closer to home (see below)
  • Implementing the DC Metro Plan to increase the utilization and improve the location efficiency of our facilities
  • Promoting environmental volunteer opportunities with CSRA Cares

Flexible CSRA

Flexible CSRA is a suite of technology, workplace approaches, and human resource policies that support when, where, and how employees work. Flexible CSRA enables our employees to:

  • Work from a location that is not their assigned work location
  • Gain easier access to CSRA facilities using Drop-in Guides
  • Use flexible schedule options
  • Connect to corporate resources more easily
  • Communicate with colleagues wherever they are located

FY17 Greenhouse Gas Emissions

49,552 Metric Tons CO2e (April 1, 2016-March 31, 2017, pre-baseline)

  • Scope 1:  1,082 MTCO2e from stationary and mobile fuel combustion
  • Scope 2:  31,857 MTCO2e from purchased electricity
  • Scope 3:  16,612 MTCO2e from business travel and other fuel- and energy-related activities (not included in Scope 1 and 2)
  • Facilities: 78%
  • Business Travel: 22%

Sustainability Awards

   

              ATP Champions 2017                   

  • Gold Employer Champion in the Arlington Transportation Partners program (2016, 2017)
  • Top-100 company offering remote jobs (e.g., telework) by flexjobs (2017, 2018)
  • Earned LEED certification (LEED CI 2009) for renovating our Westfields facility in Chantilly, VA, which is also 50% powered by wind through 2018. LEED® as a registered trademark of the U.S. Green Building Council.

Celebrating Earth Day

Our annual Earth Day celebration energizes CSRA colleagues from across the company to get outside and make a difference. In 2017, CSRA employees planted trees, volunteered with Casey Trees and Earth Sangha Wild Plant Nursery, and more. Check out the photos below!
